| Dqãe Qare Game
Reserve (7500ha) is situated in the Kalahari Desert
approximately 24kms from Ghanzi and is a community based
tourism project of the Bushmen (Ncoakhoe - meaning Red
People) from D'Kar village. Dqãe Qare Game Reserve
is owned by the people of D'Kar. The aim of the project
is to create employment, preserve the Ncoakhoe indigenous
knowledge through tourism activities and to generate
income.
The D'kar community is governed by
the D'kar Trust which falls under the umbrella of the
Kuru Development Trust, which looks after the interests
of various Bushmen communities in Botswana. Dqãe
Qare Game Reserve is but one project of many which can
be viewed on the Kuru website www.kuru.co.bw

Dqãe Qare Game Reserve offers a variety of accommodation
to suit all needs.
The Game Reserve
is well stocked and you may see some of the following
species of game and a wide variety of birds from your
own vehicle or using the reserve's safari vehicles:
Eland, Gemsbok, Red Hartebeest, Blue Wildebeest, Zebra,
Giraffe, Impala, Springbok, Kudu, Ostrich, Steenbok,
Duiker, Warthog, Cheetah (migratory), Leopard (migratory),
Caracal, Serval, Black Backed Jackal, Brown Hyena, Ardvark
and numerous smaller species of mammals. |
