| Border Collies are
one of the most intelligent and lovable breeds of dogs.
They were bred to help shepherds herd many sheep at
once.
Border Collies love to play, and they are a great choice
for people who want an active companion. These energetic
dogs are always eager to please their owners. They love
to go for walks, play ball, play fetching games, and
most of all they love to herd.
Their herding instincts are very apparent in the way
they play and interact with people and other pets.
Smart, sweet, loyal, loving, athletic, fun and energetic.
These qualities make them a wonderful addition to your
life. Sadly, these qualities are also the reason many
end up in rescue. A Border Collie is NOT a dog that
will be content to be a couch potato.
Without enough exercise, both mental and physical, a
Border Collie can become a neurotic, destructive mess.
In the right home though, once you've owned a Border
Collie, you're forever spoiled.
Border Collie Rescue Namibia
is a non-profit organisation. We are a group of devoted
Border Collie lovers who dedicate their free time to
helping Border Collies in need. Everyone in Border Collie
Rescue Namibia is a volunteer. Most of us work fulltime
jobs and so we ask you to be patient with us returning
your calls or acting on your requests.
Our volunteers have many years of experience living
with and loving Border Collies. We accept Border Collies
and occasionally BC mixes who are in need of rescue
and rehoming from owners, shelters, and other organizations
in our area. BCRN will not refuse any Border Collie
because of age or medical issues and we will not refuse
any Border Collie cross. NBCR is dedicated to finding
all our rescue dogs appropriate Border Collie homes
with adopters who understand and can meet the special
requirements of these wonderful dogs.
Our Aims
Border Collie Rescue attempts to address the problem
of abandoned Border Collies in the following ways:
By educating the public about the breed;
By finding adoptive homes for abandoned and improperly
placed dogs;
By rehabilitating abused Border Collies
By raising funds to cover the costs of sterilization
of dogs, advertising, kenneling fees, transport; phone
bills and veterinary fees.
Border Collie Rescue also provides an invaluable service
to many Border Collie owners who, through no fault of
their own, can no longer care for their dog. |
