In spite of its proximity to Windhoek, the farm is visually shielded
from the city by a couple of mountains, thus still offering a real
bush experience. There are no traversing public roads making this
a very private place.
Nature enthusiasts have the opportunity of teaming up with veterinarian
Ulf Tubbesing to make a meaningful contribution towards conservation.
At the same time they can “make their dream come true”
by getting the opportunity to a hassle free life in the bush!
Units are available to 24 investors only (20 left), making this
a strategic and symbiotic partnership between nature enthusiasts.
Each investor is entitled to build a residence on the scenic site
of his choice. Architectural guidelines ensure that the buildings
blend in with the natural environment. Residential units are visually
shielded from each other. The restricted occupancy guarantees minimized
environmental impact and exclusivity for the resident. (NOTE: This
project is very exclusive and nature conscious and can thus not
be compared to any “similar” developments in Namibia
e.g. on the airport road!)
Ongos Wilderness is professionally managed with the rest of the
farm by Ulf Tubbesing. Preservation of habitat and biodiversity
are our main objectives. Residents have traversing rights over the
entire farm and thus benefit from being part of a much greater area.
The rest of the farm will be used for low number/impact eco-tourism.
Ongos has a very scenic and varied landscape with habitat types
supporting a big variety of plants and large numbers of game of
various endemic species. Over 2000 head of large game, ranging from
Giraffe, Oryx, Eland, Kudu, Wildebeest, Hartebeest, Burchell as
well as Hartmann zebra roam freely. Warthog and the smaller antelope
(Duiker, Steenbok, Klipspringer, and Springbok) push the head count
to over 3500. The farm also supports a healthy population of predators
(Leopard, Cheetah, Caracal and Brown Hyena) as well as numerous
smaller game species and a very rich bird life (incl. Water birds
like Fish Eagle and Pelican - due to a constant running river and
the many dams).
We encourage the owners to participate with game ranching. Part
of the investment will be utilized to purchase and build breeding
herds of rare and endangered game species (e.g. Roan and Sable antelope,
Rhino) thus actively involving the owners. Revenues from this program
should, in the medium term, pay for the upkeep of the entire area
and may even pay dividends to the owners.
Assistance in obtaining residence permits!! We will assist shareholders
to process their applications through the Investment Centre, where
the staff is supportive of our project.
