The GUEST HOUSE is located in a magnificent mountain landscape with vast vistas extending far into the Namib Desert.  The guest rooms are spacious and comfortable with private bathrooms and a table/seating area or adjoining work area.  Our farm is located at an high altitude with cool nights and is malaria-free.

Rooisand Desert Ranch is situated on the fringe of the Namib Desert in Namibia’s Central Region, at the C 26 between the mountain passes of Gamsberg and Kuiseb, halfway between Windhoek (170 km) and Walvis Bay on the Atlantic coast (190 km). The ranch, in close proximity of the Gamsberg, well-known as one the darkest and least light-polluted areas in the southern hemisphere, offers ideal stargazing and astronomy conditions. It caters for all: the first-time stargazers as well as amateur astronomers and astro-photographers alike. The Rooisand observatory hosts one of the most state-of-the-art telescope/Astro graph combination available for public viewing.

Enjoy the many amenities offered at the main house and relax in either one of our individually designed Comfort Double/Twin/Family Rooms or, alternatively in a Standard Twin Room, situated close to the tennis courts and in direct view of magnificent sunsets.
Looking for complete privacy and tranquility? Then the Mountain Chalet is ideal for you and your family or travel companions, while our Campsites are well-designed for the adventurous type wanting to experience the fantastic African Skies first-hand.​

5 Campsites and 10 Cabins with shared ablutions, a kitchenette, seating area and braai/fireplaces are available - also ideal for bigger groups.
